NGO staff often ask how they can use WiserEarth to further their mission. So here are four high-impact ways you can get the most out of our community and tool kit.
Want to share your event, job or publication with people who would care?
Want to reach nonprofit professionals and activists dedicated to social justice and environmental restoration? You can by just creating an event, posting a job or adding a resource on WiserEarth. Your content will be automatically shared with our vibrant community of nearly 45,000 members. It will also be added to our search engine, which attracts over 1 million people per year. As an added bonus, anything you share will be pushed out to content partners, and automatically fed into one of 25 Twitter accounts aimed at nonprofit professionals and activists in key cities.
Need to find nonprofit organizations to partner with?
Perhaps you want to partner with another organization to reduce costs, gain new expertise, or expand service delivery? Do we have the tool for you! WiserEarth hosts the world’s largest free and editable international directory of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and socially responsible organizations (over 112,000 across the globe). Just put in some keywords, enter a city, state or country and press ‘search’. Click here to search the directory. Oh, and if you find your organization isn’t yet listed please add it.
Want to stay current with what’s happening in your city or your issue area?
Sign up for free Email Alerts or subscribe to custom RSS feeds. Just conduct a search for a keyword and enter a location. For example, if you want all green events in San Francisco, select ‘Events’, enter keyword ‘green’ and type in ‘San Francisco’ for location. Remember to put the words in quotes if you want to use an exact search term, e.g. “Transition Towns”. Then, at the top of the results page, click on ‘Get Email Alert’ if you want email updates, or ‘RSS Feed’ if you want to subscribe via RSS. This way, whenever something new is added to WiserEarth that meets your interest, we’ll automatically let you know.
Need a free online space?
Perhaps you’re looking for a free online space to coordinate a partnership or project? Do you want to get up and running in minutes? Do you want a neutral space for collaborations that isn’t ‘owned’ by any one organization? Look no further! WiserEarth groups are workspaces where members can connect, post discussions, share resources and collaborate. WiserEarth groups are already in use by more than 2,300 ‘communities of action’. Click here to learn more about groups.
