Embeddable WiserEarth Map for your Website
![]() |
Do you want a map of WiserEarth organizations, people, groups, events, or jobs for your website or blog? If so, there are three easy steps to follow using Google Maps. |
- Conduct a Search on WiserEarth: Click here to open our advanced search. At the top, select what kind of information you want (e.g. event), or just leave it at ‘All’. Type in any keyword (e.g. ‘Climate Change’). Finally, if you want a specific location, type in an address, city or country. Press the ‘Search’ button.
- Paste the RSS Feed link into Google Maps: At the top of your search results will be an RSS icon and the words ‘RSS Feed’. Right click to copy the link and head over to http://maps.google.com/. Paste the link into the search box and click ‘Search Maps’.

- Copy and Paste the Embed Code: Click on ‘Link’ over on the right-hand side of your new map. This will open up a new box. Under ‘Paste HTML to embed in website’ there will be some text like “<iframe width=”425″ height=”350″ ……>. Copy it and paste it to your website or blog. You’re done.

If you want to change the size of your map, you can click on ‘Customize and preview embedded map’ to open up a number of options. Since this map is based off a WiserEarth search, it shows only the latest 20 items that met your match, but it will continue updating as new information is added into WiserEarth. Here is an example map showing all of WiserEarth’s events in the US.
Do let us know how you are using your maps. Write a comment or send me an email and we’ll feature the best examples on this blog.
