Facebook Passion Challenge: Wiser Prizes!

Three weeks ago, we asked you to share your passion or favorite organizations on our fan page wall, and win fabulous prizes. The day has arrived to award prizes to our great fans who spread the word about WiserEarth and talked about their passions and favorites. Thank you for growing our numbers to over 1,000 fans! |
As promised, winners were selected randomly from qualified entrants. These results will be announced on Facebook as well. If you are a winner, please contact Peggy with your mailing address so we can mail you your prize!

How did this technique impact interaction on your fan page? I’ve been testing it from the other way around. Curious.
@Beth: Approximately 650 people joined the WiserEarth Fanpage during the three week challenge period and 60 people posted their passions with numerous people commenting / thumbing up those passions. Assuming that the average person on Facebook has 120 friends we probably had around 10,000 impressions (not all unique). That translates into a minimum conversion ratio of 6.5%. Not bad. We can’t track how many people actually made a status update on their own profiles (part of the challenge) but presumably a good number did of the 650 – perhaps resulting in as much as another 35K impressions (assuming 50% did so).
Besides the Facebook Fanpage we used Twitter and this blog to get the word out – probably with another 50K+ impressions.
