Right around Earth Day this year, Wiser.org launched a sustainability contest to showcase how the community lives Earth Day Every Day. Here are updates on some wonderful entries we’ve received!

First, some great news: we’ve decided to extend the contest deadline to June 5th, World Environment Day. Enter now if you haven’t already done so! Remember, come back and keep voting because voting is open to everyone. There are multiple chances to win!

If this is your first time hearing about the contest, be sure to read about it in this press release.

Here are a few entries we would like to share so far:
Ryan from the U.S. The RCC community garden, which provides an educational space for students, faculty, staff, and the surrounding community to learn about and participate in local, organic food production. To enhance the educational aspect, the garden will include a seating area and stage that would function as an outdoor classroom and event space. We also envision the garden to include art projects and signage designed and produced with significant (if not total) student input.

Apeetha from India Hafiz wrote this in Shiraz, Persia, around 1500 AD: What’s all this conflict in this lunatic sphere I see? On every horizon there is hatred and fear i see. Everyone tries to turn all their time into a profit; It’s out of control, and each day more severe, I see. . . . . Hafiz is one mouthpiece of many who enable us to confront our own face as a gesture of affection: every day IS Earth Day. Grow Well.

There is still time to enter, and you can find more great entries on the contest page. Visit the page now on Facebook to enter and vote! How do you live Earth Day every day?
