Climate change was chosen as the month’s WiserLocal topic in reference to the “Connect the Dots” event organized by 350.org and scheduled a few days later: on the 5th of May 2012, actions happened all around the world to highlight the connections between our lifestyle, different extreme climate events and climate change. By the end of this week my employment status will have officially reverted back to that of a full-time student (not that having a summer internship really counts as being employed in the first place), or more directly, my time as an intern for WiserEarth will have ended. Around 18 people (social workers, social entrepreneurs, social media experts, CSR manager and volunteers) joined the first WiserLocal in India’s National Capital region of New Delhi at “MoonLighting” on 9th July 2011. To connect more people globally, WiserEarth as an online social networking platform is spreading the WiserLocal gatherings initiative. Following up on the success of such gatherings in Paris, we launched the first WiserJakarta gathering in partnership with Green Artspace, a day prior to the World Environment Day.
