Bioneers: Innovators with breakthrough solutions
![]() |
If you are like me, you are eager to go to Bioneers this Friday, October 15, in San Rafael, California. Bioneers was an inspiration to me 7 years ago, and remains so. I not only feel surrounded by like-minded people, but I also leave the conference moved and inspired. |
An oasis of hope
The annual conference in San Rafael, California is an oasis of hope, where more than 3,000 people come together to share their ideas, experiences and passion for the co-creation of a positive future.
Every year, I am amazed by the speakers and the impact of their work. From how mushrooms can save the world, to how Google Earth is protecting the rainforests, the practical solutions that come from the Bioneers Conference address many of our most pressing environmental problems. In addition to its main conference in San Rafael, California, the conference is transmitted to more than 18 locations nationwide–acting as a hub of information for people who are hungry for change and working to make a real difference in their local communities.
Every time I go to Bioneers, I feel the power of collaboration and inspiring cross-fertilization that can indeed bring more effective change. The inspirational talks in the morning are combined with hands-on workshops and opportunities to talk to community leaders.
Innovators with breakthrough solutions
Bioneers covers a vast array of interests: from eco-design to ecological design, environmental education and restoration, food and farming, to indigenous knowledge and women’s leadership. This year, some great speakers will be sharing their expertise: Jane Goodall, Peter Warshall, Andy Lipkis, James Hansen and many more.
Things you don’t want to miss:
- Bioneers Backstage: they will be presenting live and exclusive programming, Backstage@Bioneers, where they will be talking with host Terrence McNally.
- Not in California? Beaming Bioneers: Since 2002, the Bioneers Conference has expanded beyond California. Beaming partners provide opportunities for participants to network and share information, to learn and be inspired, and to start a whole new kind of conversation.
Our founder has been presenting at Bioneers for many years. One of his most moving speeches was about Blessed Unrest and the movement that WiserEarth represents.
“Bioneers is central to the re-imagination of what it means to be human.”
Paul Hawken, WiserEarth Founder
