The big day is nearly here… 10/10/10 is this weekend! Events are lined up around the world (you can find a local event here, hosted by 350.org)! Take part in the Global Work Party, and join the conversation on what you’re up to, as well as post-10/10/10 here at the WiserEarth group!

A sampling of global events

It’s incredible to see the work parties being organized all over the world. Here is just a little taste of what’s in store.

Work Party in Reghin [Romania]: High school students will speak to younger students about the environment, climate flyers will be distributed in the city, and students will plant trees at schools with the mayor.

Alien Pine Tree Hack in the Fynbos [South Africa]: Citizens will remove invasive alien vegetation to make local ecosystems more resilient to climate change.

Dia Internaciona Limpieza Costas/International Coastal Cleanup [Dominican Republic]: Participants will clean up the Dominican coastline.

Vancouver Sustainability Run (bike and walk) … [Canada]: Event participants will move on their own steam from City Hall to Science World.

Ponte di Conio Laghetti Work Party (local stream and pools cleanup) [Italy]: Citizens will remove plastic refuse from a local treasure.

Stroud Food Feast [UK]: Participants will share sustainable recipes and support local and organic food sources culminating in a community Bring ‘n’ Share Street picnic.

Work Party in Tolosa: River Clean-up [Phillippines]: Citizens will remove garbage from the local river.

Blazing The Trail [United States]: Participants will begin construction of a walking trail from a state university to the downtown area.

Reforestation party in Cibitoke [Burundi]: Citizens will plant trees on the bare mountains in the northwestern province and help to educate the community of Buganda about conservation.
